Nigerians in Canada: Episode 2

Nigerians in Canada: Episode 2

What culture shocks did you experience in Canada?

I didn't experience much culture shock because I had some prior exposure. However, one thing that surprised me about living in Vancouver is that it isn't as social as Nigeria, where making friends and building a community is easier. In Vancouver, people can feel a bit reserved.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Canada?

What I really enjoy about living in Canada is how everything just works so well. The systems in place are organized and efficient, which makes daily life a lot easier. From the healthcare system to public transportation, everything is designed to function smoothly, which contributes to a high quality of life. It's nice to feel like the systems are designed to support you rather than create hassles.

Do you miss anything about Nigeria?

I miss the foooodddd!

What is a place every Nigerian in Canada should go to?

There are so many places I haven't explored yet, but I’d definitely recommend Vancouver. It's a stunning city surrounded by mountains. I've also heard great things about Montreal.

What do you do when you are homesick?

I never feel homesick.

If you have a chance to send one thing from Nigeria what would it be?

I'd send some Nigerian clothing
